Available technological procedures for capturing CO2 in the industrial and power generation sectors
Climate change is a major environmental issue caused by anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. Capturing CO2 and storing it in suitable geological formations is one of the main technological solutions that can provide mitigation of CO2 emission into the atmosphere. Capturing CO2 represents the first phase in process of carbon capture and storage, and includes the application of various technologies for the separation of CO2 produced in the energy and industrial sectors. There are four main systems for capturing ...... formations [2,3]. Long-term planning methodology for improving wood biomass utilization
The insufficiently developed forest management system is often followed by undeveloped forest resources supply chain and insufficient institutional support. These cause inefficient usage of fuel-wood as well as huge amounts of unused forest residues. In order to achieve optimal and long-term sustainable utilisation of biomass, an original methodology based on the interaction of mathematical optimization and backcasting approach has been developed. Mathematical optimization is used for both generation and consideration of techno-economic parameters of the forest biomass supply chain. ...Vladimir Vukašinović, Dušan Gordić, Marija Živković, Davor Koncalović, Dubravka Živković. Application of the Fuzzy theory in the evaluation of operating parameters of auxiliary mechanization on open-cast coal mine, case study: pipelayers
Achieved operating parameters are the main indicator of the work quality and selection of mining machines. The effectiveness of a coal mine is correlated with the availability of basic and auxiliary machines. The main task of auxiliary machines in lignite mines is to achieve optimal working conditions. From an economic point of view, auxiliary machines generate up to 20% of the lignite mines' total costs. These are the primary reasons for analyzing their current work and making decisions in ...Stevan Djenadić, Miloš Tanasijević, Filip Miletić, Predrag Jovančić. Split-Desktop software for the analysis of fragment size distribution of blasted rock mass
Development and Application of Methodology for Quantification of Overbreaks in Hard Rock Tunnel Construction
A methodology for determining overbreaks in hard rock tunnel construction using the drill-and-blast technique is presented in this paper. The methodology was developed for and applied to crystalline medium- to thick-bedded limestone, but it can be used in any jointed hard rock mass. Overbreaks are inevitable in hard rock tunnelling in a low-confinement environment (shallow tunnels up to several hundred meters deep) as a result of wedge failures along unfavourably oriented discontinuities caused by blasting.
