Palaeoflora of Kamenica (Pranjani Basin, western Serbia)
Palaeofloras of the Paleogene in Serbia are relatively rare, especially in comparison with floras from Neogene sediments. Most Paleogene phytoas sociations from the territory of Serbia existed in a dry and warm climate. The youngest Paleogene phytoassociation originates from the Pranjani Basin (Western Serbia), locality Kamenica. The age of this palaeoflora is determined as Late Oligocene. This fossil plant assemblage is different from other Paleo gene phytoassociations. The palaeoflora from Kamenica is characterized with leaf imprints larger than in other ...... Micro- to nanoscale textures of gold in arsenopyrite and scorodite from the As-Au-Bi assemblage of Drenjak locality (Serbia)
Ivana Jelić, Janez Zavašnik, Marina Lazarov, Alena Zdravković, Sabina Kovač, Jovica Stojanović, Aleksandar Pačevski (2023)Arsenopyrite and pyrite are important carriers of Au that is present in the form of microscopic and “invisible” gold. Such gold can be expected to be released upon the process of oxidation of these sulfides. In studied gold mineralization at Drenjak, related to the granitoids of the Oligocene-Miocene Kopaonik Ore District, the main arsenopyrite-pyrite-(bismuthinite) sulfide assemblage was formed in the quartz bodies and partly replaced by scorodite (FeAsO4·2H2O) and Bi-arsenate. The shear strength evaluation of rough and infilled joints and its indications for stability of rock cutting in schist rock mass
Construction of E75 highway section through Grdelica gorge was one of the most demanding projects realized in recent Serbian history. The alignment approximately 25 km long consists of several tens of bridges, two tunnels, three galleries and cuts with total length of 6 km. The alignment passes through highly anisotropic Palaeozoic schist rock formation of different weathering grades. Transboundary groundwater resources of Serbia - present status and future needs for sustainable management
Republic of Serbia is located at the crossroads of Southeast and Central Europe and belongs to the Central Balkans. With its 88,360 km2, Serbia is one of the larger countries of the Balkan Peninsula. It borders 8 countries and has at least one transboundary aquifer (TBA) with each of them. According to evaluation conducted for UNECE in 2008, Serbia has a total of 17 TBAs, out of which 15 are shared with one neighboring country, while two aquifers are shared with two or three ...Veljko Marinović, Branislav Petrović, Zoran Stevanović. Overview of the hydrogeological investigations of recently discovered world class deposits in Serbia
Europe industry has growing concerns on availability of the raw materials. To address this challenge, the European Commission has created a list of critical raw materials for the EU, launched EIT Raw Materials initiative, and continuously support research projects (like INTRAW, UNEXMIN etc.) with the aim of reducing the dependency and meeting growing demands. A WordNet Ontology in Improving Searches of Digital Dialect Dictionary
In this paper, we present a method for automatic generation of a digital resource, which connects all indirect synonyms of a dialect term to all indirect synonyms of a corresponding term in the standard language, aiming to improve the search of a digital dialect dictionary. The method uses SWRL rules defined in the Serbian WordNet ontology to identify sets of synonymous words. It also uses e-dictionaries to produce correct lemmas in standard language that users usually employ in searches. ...... standard language that users usually use for search. The method was applied and evaluated on verbs and a group of nouns derived from verbs (verbal nouns). We compared results obtained by the system with those produced by humans and achieved the accuracy of 89.7%. Keywords: dialect dictionary, ontology ...

Development and Application of Methodology for Quantification of Overbreaks in Hard Rock Tunnel Construction
A methodology for determining overbreaks in hard rock tunnel construction using the drill-and-blast technique is presented in this paper. The methodology was developed for and applied to crystalline medium- to thick-bedded limestone, but it can be used in any jointed hard rock mass. Overbreaks are inevitable in hard rock tunnelling in a low-confinement environment (shallow tunnels up to several hundred meters deep) as a result of wedge failures along unfavourably oriented discontinuities caused by blasting. Age And Mode of the Middle Miocene Marine Flooding of the Pannonian Basin—Constraints from Central Serbia
Oleg Mandic, Ljupko Rundić, Stjepan Ćorić, Ðurðica Pezelj, Dörte Theobalt, Karin Sant, Wout Krijgsman (2019)The timing and mode of the marine flooding of the southern margin of the Pannonian basin in SE Europe is still a matter of debate. Imputing missing data using grey system theory and the biplot method to forecast groundwater levels and yields
Groundwater management is one of today’s important tasks. It has become necessary to seek out increasingly reliable methods to conserve groundwater resources. Dependable forecasting of the amounts of groundwater that can be abstracted in a sustainable manner requires longterm monitoring of the groundwater regime (rate of abstraction and groundwater levels). Monitoring of the groundwater source for the town of Bečej, Serbia had been disrupted for multiple years.
