Geothermal potential, chemical characteristic and utilization of groundwater in Serbia
To collect and unify data about all geothermal resources in Serbia, a database was formed. The database allows us to perceive the geothermal resources of Serbia and their potential for utilization. Based on the data available in the geothermal database, the estimated temperatures of reservoirs, heat power, and geothermal energy utilization were calculated. The database contains 293 geothermal records (springs, boreholes) registered at 160 locations, with groundwater temperatures in the range between 20 and 111 °C. The maximum expected ...Geothermal database, Geothermal resources, Geothermal potential, Hydrochemistry, Hierarchical cluster analysis, SerbiaTanja Petrović Pantić, Katarina Atanasković Samolov, Jana Štrbački, Milan Tomić. The Effect of Gravel and Sand Mining on Groundwater and Surface Water Regimes — A Case Study of the Velika Morava River, Serbia
High-resolution sequence stratigraphy of carbonates - theory and examples
Using gravity data to define structural correlation affecting the formation of Neogene basins
A gravity survey can help to define the structural correlation in the study area. The structures that have influenced the development of Neogene basins can be defined using gravity data. By applying mathematical transformations to gravity data, the geological structures (faults, nappes, etc.) that impacted the formation of Neogene basins can be defined. We have taken the part of the Dinarides as the test region. The paper presents the results obtained using the procedure residual, vertical gradient, and total ...Snežana Ignjatović, Ivana Vasiljević, Branisav Sretković, Milanka Negovanović. Risk Evaluation: Brief Review and Innovation Model Based on Fuzzy Logic and MCDM
Stevan Djenadic, Milos Tanasijevic, Predrag Jovancic, Dragan Ignjatovic, Dejan Petrovic, Ugljesa Bugaric (2022)The risk assessment of engineering systems represents an important part of the quality of service and dependability. The existing methods for risk evaluation use crisp sets for rating partial indicators’ proposition and their cumulative products as an overall indicator. In this paper, existing FMEA and FMECA methods have been improved using the fuzzy expert system for calculating the risk priority number. The application of fuzzy logic allows the use of linguistic descriptions for risk analysis. In this way, the ...Stevan Djenadic, Milos Tanasijevic, Predrag Jovancic, Dragan Ignjatovic, Dejan Petrovic, Ugljesa Bugaric. Cyanobacterial diversity and toxicity of biocrusts from the Caspian Lowland loess deposits, North Iran
Tamara Dulić, Jussi Meriluoto, Tamara Palanački Malešević, Violeta Gajić, Tamara Važić, Nada Tokodi, Igor Obreht, Bojan Kostić, Petar Kosijer, Farhad Khormali, Zorica Svirčev (2016)Biocrusts and adjacent sediments were collected from the so-called loess plateau of Northern Iran and the loess deposits on the foothills of Alborz Mountains. The mineralogical and granulometric analyses characterized sediments as quartz-rich clayey or sandy silts. Cyanobacterial diversity, colony morphology and grain stabilization were studied by light and scanning electron microscopy, which showed glue-like layers of cyanobacterial EPS and dense networks of filamentous cyanobacteria immobilizing finer and bigger grains, respectively. Amorphous, tuft and globular cyanobacterial colony structures were also detected. 15 cyanobacterial genera were ...Tamara Dulić, Jussi Meriluoto, Tamara Palanački Malešević, Violeta Gajić, Tamara Važić, Nada Tokodi, Igor Obreht, Bojan Kostić, Petar Kosijer, Farhad Khormali, Zorica Svirčev. Numerical Modeling and Simulation of the Effectiveness of Groundwater Source Protection Management Plans: Riverbank Filtration Case Study in Serbia
The paper describes the establishment and testing of an algorithm for developing sustainable management plans associated with groundwater source protection against potential pollutants and discusses the effectiveness of individual systems. The applied methodology pertains to groundwater resource management, particularly those cases that involve riverbank filtration. Namely, groundwater (numerical) modeling is employed to examine the groundwater regime and balance, as well as to create protection systems and illustrate their effectiveness. Particle tracking analysis is used to study pollutants’ travel and ...Dušan Polomčić, Dragoljub Bajić, Bojan Hajdin, Dragan Pamučar. Status and tendencies under development and application of underground coal gasification-UCG
Phase and microstructural study of urinary stones
In this paper we present the phase and morphological characteristics of urinary stones from Serbian patients. The study included for the first time the determination of the phase composition and a statistical analysis of the presence of different types of urinary stones in both men and women in Serbia. The main goal of study was representation of collected data for the first time. For past three years, more than 600 samples were collected from Serbian patients. Complex geophysical survey on solving the problem of water loss in the karst terrain reservoir
Branislav Sretković, Dejan Vučković (2023)Geophysical surveys in karst terrain are always a specific challenge. Each of them requires a careful consideration of the problem, specific conditions on the ground, the selection of adequate methods applicable in that specific and unique karst area. But they should have one thing in common: a complex approach and looking at the problem from wider to narrower, with a gradual narrowing of the investigation area, increasing the spatial precision and resolution of the obtained data. Development and evaluation of fracture gradient curve model: a case study of south-central Kazakhstan
An accurate fracture gradient value is one of the most important issues in oil and gas well design and drilling. The value of a fracture gradient is a critical parameter for determining the drilling mud weight and selecting the proper depths for setting the casing in the planning process of drilling operations.
