Identification of the Best Available Renewable Energy Source for Electricity Production in Serbia
Around 2/3 of electricity production in Serbia originates from coal-fired thermal power plants. The most significant domestic coal deposits are lignite deposits, a type of low -quality coal that causes negative health, climate and environmental impacts during the combustion. To reduce those negative impacts on domestic electricity production and to promote environmental awareness, the Serbian Energy Sector Development Strategy and the National Action Plan for Use of Renewable Energy Sources indicate the plan for increasing the share of ...Strategija obnovljive energije, Održiva energija, Proizvodnja električne energije, Solarna energija, Biomasa, Hidroenergije, Energija vetra... contribution of each RES to the in dependent, affordable, reliable and environment-friendly national electricity sector. Interactions of Copper(II) Complexes of some Schiff base ligands with calf thymus DNA and bovine serum albumin
Karst wastewater as a high quality, renewable and within the circular economy water resource
Jovana Nikolić, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac (2021)High quality drinking water in it’s natural state is becoming less and less available to the human population. Based on the expected climate changes, it is considered that this resource will be less in the world but also in our region. Also, the accompanying polluting components that exceed the maximum allowable concentration are increasingly present in the waters. Even after the water treatment, it happens that some components are still in the drinking water, which adversely affects human health. ...Jovana Nikolić, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac. Karst groundwater quantity assessment and sustainability: the approach appropriate for river basin management plans
Veljko Marinović, Zoran Stevanović (2019)As a result of the fact that karstified rocks can accumulate large amounts of high-quality groundwater, karst aquifer is considered, throughout the world, one of the most important types of aquifers. Due to their high permeability, but also vulnerability to pollution, these precious groundwater resources need to be properly evaluated and protected. Taking into account heterogeneity and complexity of the karst environment, it is difficult to propose a uniform algorithm for managing karst groundwater, which causes the necessity to ...Upravljanje karstnim podzemnim vodama, Pritisci na kvantitet voda, Plan upravljanja vodnim resursima, Bosna i Hercegovina, SrbijaVeljko Marinović, Zoran Stevanović. Hydrochemistry of groundwater contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons: the impact of biodegradation (Vitanovac, Serbia)
Nenad Marić, Jana Štrbački, Sanja Mrazovac Kurilić, Vladimir P. Beškoski, Zoran Nikić, Snežana Ignjatović, Jovana Malbašić (2020)Aquifer contamination by petroleum hydrocarbons leads to measurable changes of groundwater hydrochemistry, primarily due to the microbiological activity. This study analyzes this phenomenon at an historical kerosene-contaminated site in Vitanovac (central Serbia). Due to the long-term hydrocarbon contamination and exposure to aerobic and anaerobic biodegradation mechanisms, the lowest concentrations of O2, NO3−, and SO42− (electron acceptors) and the highest concentrations of Mn and Fe (products of microbial metabolic activity) overlap. The terminal redox-accepting processes in groundwater ranged from oxygen ...Nenad Marić, Jana Štrbački, Sanja Mrazovac Kurilić, Vladimir P. Beškoski, Zoran Nikić, Snežana Ignjatović, Jovana Malbašić. A contribution to the understanding of the discharge dynamics and water balance of the karst spring Gornji Dušnik (Suva Planina)
A sufficiently long time-series of daily discharges is needed to assess the discharge dynamics and calculate the water balance equation parameters of a spring (river source). The paper assumes that a catchment is gauged if a time-series of observations of at least 30 years is available, which is a rare case in Serbia. One-year monitoring is often set up to verify the reserves of a water source or spring intended for capture. Monitoring ceases after the final report is ...Aleksandar Tanasković, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Dušan Polomčić, Jelena Ratković. Challenges in using wastewater heat pumps in district heating systems
Dejan Ivezić, Marija Živković, Aleksandar Madžarević, Boban Pavlović, Dušan Danilović, Dimitrije Manić (2022)Decarbonization of district heating systems requires ensuring significant amounts of renewable energy available in the proximity of the district heating network. One of the promising solutions is the utilization of purified water from wastewater treatment plants by heat pumps. However, as a heat source, wastewater treatment plants are characterized by annual variability of the flow and temperature of purified water. The consequence is the variability of recoverable heat potential. In this paper, the effect of variability is analyzed for ...Dejan Ivezić, Marija Živković, Aleksandar Madžarević, Boban Pavlović, Dušan Danilović, Dimitrije Manić.
