Fuzzy expert analysis of the severity of mining machinery failure
Mining machinery failure is almost an everyday occurrence. Usually the failures bare certain consequences, which require additional financial costs to repair and restore the system to its operational state. The consequences are viewed through negative and damaging effects a failure has on the machine, health and safety of the employees, work environment, and on the environment. The removal of the consequences of the failure requires additional financial investment, which has a negative impact on the company’s business. In order ...Dejan V. The optimization of auxiliary machinery in open-cast lignite mines: a case study of bulldozers
One of the most important prerequisites for the successful operation of the open-cast lignite mine is to carry out all the auxiliary works timely with the necessary quality. The most important and most commonly used auxiliary machines are bulldozers. Engaging time of bulldozers use is in direct relation with the coefficients of the time and capacity utilization of the continuous system for the excavation of coal and tailings, which indicates their importance. More than 100 bulldozers have been hired ...... performed according to recommended method for evaluation of hourly ownership and operational costs, including data on auxiliary machines (Caterpillar and Komatsu methods). Knowledge and Rule-Based Diacritic Restoration in Serbian
In this paper we present a procedure for the restoration of diacritics in Serbian texts written using the degraded Latin alphabet. The procedure relies on the comprehensive lexical resources for Serbian: the morphological electronic dictionaries, the Corpus of Contemporary Serbian and local grammars. Dictionaries are used to identify possible candidates for the restoration, while the dataobtainedfromSrpKorandlocalgrammarsassistsinmakingadecisionbetween several candidates in cases of ambiguity. The Usage of Various Lexical Resources and Tools to Improve the Performance of Web Search Engines
In this paper we present how resources and tools developed within the Human Language Technology Group at the University of Belgrade can be used for tuning queries before submitting them to a web search engine. We argue that the selection of words chosen for a query, which are of paramount importance for the quality of results obtained by the query, can be substantially improved by using various lexical resources, such as morphological dictionaries and wordnets. These dictionaries enable semantic ...LR web services, MultiWord Expressions & Collocations, Information Extraction, Information Retrieval... Prioritization of strategic measures for strengthening the security of supply of the Serbian natural gas sector
To strengthen the security of supply of the Serbian gas sector, it is necessary to analyze the impact of planned strategic measures. The analysis involves the identification of the most influential threats to the security of natural gas supply and prioritization of the strategic measures for overcoming the consequences of threats. The proposed methodology is based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process. The obtained weights for the identified threats and strategic measures are formed according to experts' judgments. Environmental Energy Security Indicators as Tools for Environmental Protection
Composition of organic matter and thermal maturity of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sedimentary rocks in East Herzegovina (External Dinarides, Bosnia and Herzegovina)
This paper presents the first data on the organic matter and thermal maturity of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sedimentary rocks in the East Herzegovina region of the External Dinarides. Representative, organic-rich samples from outcropping sedimentary rocks of different ages in the area (Triassic to Neogene) were selected and analysed. The organic matter was studied by Rock-Eval pyrolysis and under the microscope in reflected non-polarized light and incident blue light. A Knowledge-Based Approach to Mine Ventilation Planning in Yugoslav Mining Practice
Ventilation system analysis is a complex process based on the calculation and analysis of numerous parameters. These problems can be successfully solved by the SimVent numerical package, but a full understanding and use of the obtained results require the involvement of an experienced specialist in the ventilation field. The solution was found in the creation of a hybrid system INVENTS, whose knowledge base represents a formalization of the expert knowledge in the mine ventilation field. In this paper, we ...... network. The results obtained through SimVent’s simulations can be exported to VENTEX — a diagnostic expert system that performs the analysis of these re- sults according to a number of criteria.
