Production of electricity from coal-fired power plants and accompanying CO2 emissions: comparison of EU-27 and US
Even in the third decade of the 21st century, large power plants are still responsible for more than half of the electricity production in Europe and US. They predominantly use fossil fuels in their work, which results in the emission of pollutants into the air, soil and water. In addition to the production of electric energy, fossil fuels, including coal, are used for industrial purposes. Although the use of coal, especially in the countries of the European Union, is ...... developing countries, coal is often the only alternative when cleaner energy sources are inadequate to meet the growing demand for energy, i.e., impact on rising standards. Such is the case with Serbia. In 1990, the share of coal in the production of electricity was 72,6%, while in 2021 this share ...

Correlation Between Dynamic CBR and Compaction and Bearing Capacity of Pavement Foundation Layers
This paper presents a dynamic California Bearing Ratio (CBRd) device that can be used on a prepared pavement foundation layer to obtain a certain parameter of the tested material in the laboratory and in situ in a direct and fast way. For the selected natural material (gravel), it is shown that the laboratory CBRd can be used to estimate the compaction and bearing capacity, because it correlates well with the parameters of the standard and modifed Proctor compaction tests. ...korelacija parametara, donji slojevi saobraćajnica, laboratorijska i terenska ispitivanja, dinamički kalifornijski indeks nosivosti CBRd... quality of construction, in accordance with the criteria defined by certain design regulations, specifications, and standards. Influence of DEM resolution on numerical modelling of debris flows in RAMMS - Selanac case study
Debris flows induced by intensive rainfall represent very hazardous phenomena in many parts of the World. Methods for prediction of runout distance of flow like mass movements are different and depending on the input data, rheology, and available or appropriate numerical solution. However, sometimes it is not easy to obtain pre event and post event high-resolution data in the rural or mountainous area. Thus, the topology of terrain is the most important input parameter for the every real case ...... software is FVM (Finite Volume Method) based software for modelling of debris flows. Properties of fly ash and slag from the power plants
This paper describes the physical, chemical and mineral properties of ash and slag, which were taken from thermal power plants Nikola Tesla A, Nikola Tesla B, Kostolac A and Kostolac B. The knowledge of the mineralogical material composition is important because the type of minerals directly determines the properties of the fly ash and slag and their possible application. Density maps from gravity inversion as a tool for the basin basement analysis and imaging
Ivana Vasiljević (2023)Previously devised method for density mapping of the Cenozoic basin’s basement is further developed in order to improve the visualization and geological interpretation of the results. The method combines gravity-density inversion with forward modeling and requires gravity anomaly and depth-to-basement data. Although it was primarily designed for application in well-researched basins, such as Pannonian basin, method does not require further constrains.
