Projecting short to medium-term effects of carbon emissions trading on Serbia's GDP
Boban Pavlović, Nikola Trtica (2024)This paper presents an approach to assess the short to medium-term effects of the Emissions Trading System (ETS), an economic and climate policy instrument aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, on GDP from the expenditure side. The analysis focuses on Serbia’s electricity sector, which relies heavily on lignite-based pro duction dominated by state-owned enterprises. The obtained projections suggest that in the short term, the introduction of an ETS may lead to slower GDP growth compared to official forecasts. However, ...... decreases; by 2030, it amounts to 0.6%. This result can primarily be explained by the drop in revenue from the ETS due to the downward trajectory of GHG emissions, which results from increased investments in RES. The substantial effects of Scenario 3 can be interpreted by the fact that this scenario ...

‘Blue-’ and ‘Brown-speckled’ pottery from Qalhât, the Sultanate of Oman (13–16th centuries): Comparison with traditional Omani 19–20 century productions
Representative ‘Blue speckled’ (13–16th centuries) and ‘Brown speckled’ (13–21st century) wares recovered from the excavations in Qalhât or collected around Bahlâ city (Sultanate of Oman) were characterized by XRPD, SEM-EDS, Raman/optical microspectroscopy, and thermal expansion. Minerals present in the body (quartz, augite and albite as major phases, calcite, dolomite, rutile, anatase, phosphate, hematite and magnetite as minor phases) were identified by XRPD and/or Raman spectroscopy. Asbestos-Based Pottery from Corsica: The First Fiber-Reinforced Ceramic Matrix Composite
Asbestos-containing pottery shards collected in the northeast of Corsica (Cap Corse) and dating from the 19th century, or earlier, have been analyzed by SEM-EDS, XRPD, FTIR and Raman microspectroscopy. Blue (crocidolite) and white (chrysotile) asbestos fiber bundles are observed in cross-sections. Most of the asbestos is partly or totally dehydroxylated, and some transformation to forsterite is observed to occur, indicative of a firing above 800 C. Examination of freshly fractured pieces shows a nonbrittle fracture with fiber pull-out, consistent with ...... and mechanical strength of a ceramic object. However, the association of two brittle materials, i.e., a composite material, can give rise to a nonbrittle material which can resist fracture [1-3]. Sitni, ali bitni: uloga sitnih sisara, herpetofaune i mekušaca u rekonstrukciji pleistocenskih paleosredina
Fosilni ostaci životinja i biljaka imaju važnu ulogu u rekonstrukciji pleistocenskih paleosredina. U ovom radu opisan je značaj tri grupe životinja: sitnih sisara, herpetofaune I mekušaca. Self-Engineering: Possibilities for Maintenance Operations in the Mining Machines Industry
Self-engineering is a relatively new branch of knowledge that aims to understand how systems could “autonomously” re-configure or repair themselves without the intervention of the operators. A direct field of application is within the maintenance spectrum.
