Palynology and petrology of Upper Miocene lignite from the coastal zone of field “A”, the Kovin deposit (Serbia)
The paper presents the results of palynological research of lignite and sedimentary rocks, as well as petrology of lignite from the “A” field of the Kovin deposit, Serbia. The palynological data suggest changes in the vegetation during the deposition of organic matter with several well-developed zones in Late Miocene palaeomire. Palynofacies analysis indicate changes in palaeoenvironment from fluvio-deltaic with accumulation of siliciclastic, transition from distal dysoxic-anoxic, suboxic-anoxic to proximal suboxic-anoxic and reducing environment. The palynomorphs indicate wet humid swamp ...Jelena Milivojević, Zorica Lazarević, Dragana Životić. Paleovegetation and environment during deposition of the Late Oligocene sub-bituminous coal in the Bobov Dol Basin (SW Bulgaria) as deduced from petrographic and geochemical characteristics
Alexander Zdravkov, Achim Bechtel, Doris Groβ, Ivan Kojić, Ksenija Stojanović, Dragana Životić (2024)Coal and carbonaceous shale samples were taken from the Late Oligocene Bobov Dol Basin, SW Bulgaria. Seams Ia, I, IIa+b, III, IV and V from the coal-bearing Bobov Dol Fm. were sampled to provide insights into the peat forming vegetation and depositional environment based on detailed organic petrological and geochemical study. The petrographic composition indicates that both coals and carbonaceous shales contain predominantly terrestrial organic matter with abundant huminite macerals and locally enriched liptinite macerals. Inertinite is rare or ...Alexander Zdravkov, Achim Bechtel, Doris Groβ, Ivan Kojić, Ksenija Stojanović, Dragana Životić. The environmental and health damage caused by the use of coal
A Mathematical Learning Environment Based on Serbian Language Resources
In recent years, in line with ever growing usage of Information technology, the learning environments are changing. The amount of available learning materials in various forms has increased. These new environments demand comprehensive learning systems, which enable management of the learning corpus with special attention paid to relevant lexical resources. In this paper we present the concept of a Mathematical Learning Environment in Serbian (MLES), which is based on a corpus of mathematical materials and various lexical resources, enabling ...Radojičić Marija, Obradović Ivan, Stanković Ranka, Utvić Miloć, Kaplar Sebastijan. Investigation of accessory elements of representative petrologic radioactivity carriers at Stara Planina, Serbia
Status and tendencies under development and application of underground coal gasification-UCG
Environmental flows and demands for sustainable water use in protected karst areas of the Western Balkans
Karst terrains cover some 30% of the Western Balkans, where rich karst aquifers represent the main source of potable water supply and ensure the development of local economies and tourism. In this “classical karst” region, there are also numerous sites or areas under different forms of protection—from those that are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list to natural monuments and landscapes that are protected by national legislation. In and around them are specific representatives of flora and fauna ...Zoran Stevanović, Aleksandra Maran Stevanović, Želimir Pekaš, Romeo Eftimi, Veljko Marinović. Fuzzy expert analysis of the severity of mining machinery failure
Mining machinery failure is almost an everyday occurrence. Usually the failures bare certain consequences, which require additional financial costs to repair and restore the system to its operational state. The consequences are viewed through negative and damaging effects a failure has on the machine, health and safety of the employees, work environment, and on the environment. The removal of the consequences of the failure requires additional financial investment, which has a negative impact on the company’s business. In order ...Dejan V. Determining the Groundwater Balance and Radius of Influence Using Hydrodynamic Modeling: the Case Study of the Groundwater Source “Šumice” (Kikinda, Serbia)
A groundwater flow model was developed to simulate groundwater extraction from the public water supply source of the City of Kikinda. The hydrodynamic model includes the municipal groundwater source of Kikinda (Šumice and the Jezero Well), but also an extended area where there are groundwater sources that provide water supply to three factories: (MSK, TM and LŽT - Kikinda). Hydrodynamic modeling, based on the numerical method of finite differences will show the groundwater balance of the sources in the ...Dušan Polomčić, Dragoljub Bajić, Jelena Zarić.
