Formation of the risk model at the internal landfill open mine pit "Tamnava-West field"
Insufficient exploration of landfill sites directly affects the accurate assessment of gaps or errors in mine design, which carry high risks and potential consequences from unwanted events. In order to develop a procedure for forming a risk model for mining systems at landfill sites, it is necessary to analyze the examples of terrain destabilization and resulting consequences, such as damage to machinery, for instance. Accidental cases recorded during the period from 2014 to 2021 are encompassed by the analysis. ...Danijela Božić, Vladimir Čebašek, Miloš Tanasijević. Vulnerability methods in hard rock formation as a basis for groundwater risk assessment – from resource to source
Groundwater in a hard rock formation is most endangered at places where a potential source can discharge contaminants that can reach the saturated zone of an aquifer. In these circumstances, an essential tool for groundwater protection is the contamination risk map. This map is based on the integration of two maps: a hazards map, i.e., map of potential sources of contamination and a vulnerability map. The selection of a proper vulnerability method is an important task since the resulting ...karta rizika od kontaminacije, ranjivosti podzemnih voda, DRASTIC, EPIK, PI, COP, Nacionalni park TaraVladimir Živanović, Igor Jemcov, Veselin Dragišić. Bio-electrochemical potential and mineralogy of metal rich acid mining lake sediment: the “Robule” lake case study
Nebojša Atanacković, Alena Zdravković, Jana Štrbački, Sabina Kovač, Vladimir Živanović, Katarina Batalović, Srđan Stanković (2024)Mining for base metals and some critical raw materials is associated with acid, sulphate, and metal-rich waters (AMD). At the points where these waters are accumulated or discharged, the secondary minerals are precipitated, mostly iron-oxyhydroxides, forming characteristic orange sediments toxic to the environment. The sediment or sludge is prone to leaching of metals and sulphate, thus requiring proper disposal to maintain the waste stability. In this study, we assessed the AMD lake “Robule” sediment electrochemical properties and associated mineralogy ...Nebojša Atanacković, Alena Zdravković, Jana Štrbački, Sabina Kovač, Vladimir Živanović, Katarina Batalović, Srđan Stanković. Tracking of the temporal dependency of fading of the human footprint temperature contrast
In certain situations, it is extremely important to determine the exact time “someone” entered or crossed the forbidden zone of a military or strategic installation, a red zone of radioactive, chemical, or biological contamination, a bank or similar structure. Standard security measures include ordinary video surveillance using cameras that operate in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum, as well commercial thermal imaging cameras [1, 2]. The paper presents the results of experiments that suggest another possible use of ...Stevan Đenadić, Ljubiša Tomić, Vesna Damnjanović, Darko Vasiljević, Danica Pavlović. Energetska tranzicija u domaćinstvima: analiza usaglašenosti Srbije sa paketom „Čista energija za sve Evropljane“ / Energy Transition in Households: Analysis of Serbia’s Compliance with the „Clean Energy for All Europeans“ Package
Zahvaljujući svojoj složenosti i heterogenosti, sektor domaćinstva predstavlja neizostavnu tačku u politikama energetske tranzicije. Hydrochemical indicators of groundwater flow in the area of “Čukaru Peki” Cu-Au underground mine in eastern Serbia
The physical and chemical properties of groundwater, together with the groundwater levels regime and rock hydraulic properties, are often used to understand and conceptualize the hydrogeological system. Prediction of the influence of mining works on groundwater, and vice versa, is a challenge due to significantly altered groundwater flow patterns in the raw materials exploitation areas in relation to natural conditions. Therefore, multiple parameters are assessed and monitored before and during exploitation to properly characterize and quantify the system for ...Nebojša Atanacković, Vladimir Živanović, Jana Štrbački, Veselin Dragišić, Ivana Cvejić. The impact of temporal variability of groundwater levels on groundwater vulnerability maps in karst terrains – a case example of the Perućac spring catchment area
Groundwater vulnerability maps represent an essential tool for protecting karst groundwater resources. Vulnerability assessment is usually based on spatial evaluation of various parameters that affect the vulnerability degree and regulate the protection role of the unsaturated zone. Most of these parameters, like soil and geology conditions, are constant and do not change during the year or over several years. In contrast, some parameters, such as the groundwater level, depend on the variability of recharge conditions. By considering the variability ...Vladimir Živanović, Igor Jemcov, Nebojša Atanacković. Groundwater vulnerability assessment as a tool for understanding karst flow systems and prediction of spring yield - case example of a karst spring in Western Serbia
Modelling approaches in karst hydrogeology imply a high degree of schematization, uncertainty and subjectivity due to the specific nature of karst systems. The need to protect groundwater, especially in karst, has resulted in increasing application of methods for assessing groundwater vulnerability. Vulnerability methods specially developed for karst could assess filtration conditions, anisotropy, specific infiltration, and temporal variability, enabling better characterization and understanding of the karst systems. A recently developed method is the Time Dependent Model (TDM method), where vulnerability ...Vladimir Živanović, Nebojša Atanacković, Slavko Špadijer.
