Ground surface subsidence monitoring using sentinel-1 in the “Kostolac” open pit coal mine
Zoran Gojković, Milan Kilibarda, Ljiljana Brajović, Miloš Marjanović, Aleksandar Milutinović, Aleksandar Ganić (2023)Open pit coal mining affects surrounding populated areas, resulting in terrain surface deformation. Surface deformation should be monitored as often as possible to control deformations and prevent potential incidents. This paper analyzes time series deformation estimated from the Sentinel-1 satellite images using the Persistent Scatterer Interferometry method to monitor subsidence rates caused by open pit mining activities. It is possible to measure deformations using classical geodetic methods, but those are rarely used in practice because they are time-consuming and ...Zoran Gojković, Milan Kilibarda, Ljiljana Brajović, Miloš Marjanović, Aleksandar Milutinović, Aleksandar Ganić. Estimating hydraulic parameters for the complex hydrodynamic models
Hydrodynamic models have usually been calibrated manually, by trial-and-error, with different values of hydraulic parameters and hydraulic characteristics of boundary conditions. This method of calibration and estimation of hydraulic parameters requires an extensive knowledge and experience of experts, but whether the resulting solution includes an optimal set of parameters still remains an open question. An optimization method founded upon the Gauss-Marquardt-Levenberg algorithm, along with PEST software based on that algorithm, introduces automation of model calibration with regularization, which substantially ...Dušan Polomčić, Dragoljub Bajić, Jelena Ratković, Bojan Hajdin. Application of the principle of circular economy to the thermal groundwater, the example of the municipality of Bogatić
There are about 360 locations of thermal and thermo-mineral waters in Serbia, whose water temperatures range from 14 to 98°C, which ranks Serbia as the richest European country in geothermal energy. The mentioned water resources (thermal and thermomineral waters) are used, mostly, for therapeutic purposes in spas and sports and recreational centers. The main problem that is present is the fact that they are not used in a rational and efficient way. The paper will give examples territorially related ...Marija Jovanović, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac.
Modeliranje i simulacija energetske tranzicije u sektoru domaćinstava
Boban S. Pavlović (2022)Aktuelnu energetsku tranziciju odlikuje ubrzanje procesa dekarbonizacije energetskih sistema, unapređenje energetske efikasnosti, razvoj čistijih tehnologija baziranih na obnovljivim izvorima energije i održivije korišćenje prirodnih resursa. Predmet istraživanja u disertaciji je energetska tranzicija sektora domaćinstva, preciznije tranzicija u grejanju domaćinstava, imajući u ...energetika, energetska tranzicija, energetsko planiranje, energetsko modeliranje, obnovljivi izvori energije, domaćinstva, ponašanje potrošačaBoban S. Failure Estimation of the Majdanpek Open Pit East Face Based on Inverse Velocity Model
The Majdanpek open pit mine south district is currently active mining prospect of copper ore exploitation in eastern Serbia. Its depth is approaching the termination depth and occurrences of large-scale instabilities and global instability of the final pit slope is possible. These can generate catastrophic mass movement inside an area that encloses a regional road route and the Pek River bed which is channelled along the outer contour of the pit. The displacements that were noted in early 2023, in the ...Miloš Marjanović, Stefan Milanović, Nikola Simić, Lazar Kričak. Novel Methods in Multiple Criteria Decision-Making Process (MCRAT and RAPS)—Application in the Mining Industry
Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) is a supporting tool which is widely spread in different areas of science and industry. Many researchers have confirmed that MCDM methods can be useful for selecting the best solution in many different problems. In this paper, two novel methods are presented and applied on existing decision-making processes in the mining industry. The first method is multiple criteria ranking by alternative trace (MCRAT) and the second is ranking alternatives by perimeter similarity (RAPS). These ...Katarina Urošević, Zoran Gligorić, Igor MIljanović, Čedomir Beljić, Miloš Gligorić. Pleistocene rhinoceros from Bogovina Cave: the first report of Stephanorhinus hundsheimensis Toula, 1902 (Mammalia, Rhinocerotidae) from Serbia
Finds of Pleistocene rhinoceros are rare in Serbia, and only one species (the woolly rhinoceros Coelodonta antiquitatis Blumenbach, 1799) has been reported so far. The current paper presents the dental material of an extinct so-called Hundsheim rhinoceros, Stephanorhinus hundsheimensis Toula, 1902 from Bogovina Cave (East ern Serbia). Both the morphological and metric characteristics of the teeth are consis tent with the attribution to S. hundsheimensis. Unfortunately, the rhinoceros material originated from an uncertain geological context, so there is no ...... reported measurements for rhinoceros teeth follow Fortelius et al. (1993): length - L (i.e., vestibular length) and width - W (i.e., mesial width for upper teeth, and distal width for lower teeth). The dimen- sions of Bogovina rhinoceros teeth were compared to the size ranges for S. etruscus, S. hundsheimen- ...

However, a potential association with a caballoid horse tooth could hint at an age of 600 ka or less for the assemblage, which would indicate a relatively late date for the Hundsheim rhinoceros from Bogovina Cave.
