Imputing missing data using grey system theory and the biplot method to forecast groundwater levels and yields
Groundwater management is one of today’s important tasks. It has become necessary to seek out increasingly reliable methods to conserve groundwater resources. Dependable forecasting of the amounts of groundwater that can be abstracted in a sustainable manner requires longterm monitoring of the groundwater regime (rate of abstraction and groundwater levels). Monitoring of the groundwater source for the town of Bečej, Serbia had been disrupted for multiple years. The objective of the paper is to assess the possibility of reinterpreting ...Jelena Ratković, Dušan Polomčić, Zoran Gligorić, Dragoljub Bajić. CC-PESTO: a novel GIS-based method for assessing the vulnerability of karst groundwater resources to the effects of climate change
The new GIS-based CC-PESTO method is shown to successfully assess and map the vulnerability/resilience of karst aquifers to effects of climate change. Karst aquifers were chosen due to their importance at the global level and widespread utilisation in potable water supply and irrigation, but also because of their hydrogeological complexity. The method was developed to assess the intrinsic vulnerability of aquifers, without considering the direct impact of variable climate factors, but considering the adaptive capacity of aquifers in response ...Zoran Stevanović, Veljko Marinović, Jelena Krstajić. Development and Application of Methodology for Quantification of Overbreaks in Hard Rock Tunnel Construction
A methodology for determining overbreaks in hard rock tunnel construction using the drill-and-blast technique is presented in this paper. The methodology was developed for and applied to crystalline medium- to thick-bedded limestone, but it can be used in any jointed hard rock mass. Overbreaks are inevitable in hard rock tunnelling in a low-confinement environment (shallow tunnels up to several hundred meters deep) as a result of wedge failures along unfavourably oriented discontinuities caused by blasting. It is widely accepted ...hard rock, drill-and-blast, geological overbreak, technological overbreak, stability criterion, discontinuity orientation, tunnel constructionZoran Berisavljević, Dragoljub Bajić, Vojkan Jovičić. Rock slope stability analysis under Hoek–Brown failure criterion with different flow rules
The stability analysis of homogeneous rock slope following the Hoek–Brown failure criterion under the hypothesis of different flow rules is performed based on limit equilibrium and finite element methods. The applied failure criterion is the generalized Hoek–Brown that can be introduced as a shear/normal function in analysis applying different flow rules. The results are compared with those obtained by the application of equivalent shear strength parameters of the Mohr–Coulomb criterion, considering that this is still the most widely used ...Kružna klizna površ, Huk-Braunov kriterijum loma, Kriterijum popuštanja, Smičuća/normalna funkcija, Nivo napona, Verovatnoća i parametarska analizaSvetlana Melentijević, Zoran Berisavljević, Dušan Berisavljević, Claudio Olalla Marañón . Mine ventilation system planning using genetic algorithms
The most common problem in contemporary mining practice related to the planning and analysis of ventilation systems is the optimization of partially regulated air distribution in mine ventilation networks. This paper presents a two step optimization procedure for partly regulated air distribution in mine ventilation networks. The first step is the determination of air distribution in all branches using the well known Hardy-Cross method. In the second step the distribution and parameters of air flow regulators with minimum engaged ...coal, lignite, and peat; ventilation systems; coal mining; underground mining; ventilation; mathematical models; design; air flow; optimization; calculation methodsNikola Lilić, Ranka Stanković, Ivan Obradović. Seasonal Variations of the Zapadna Morava River Water Quality
The water samples collected from four localities of the middle course of the Zapadna Morava River during 2020 were analyzed via the selected physicochemical parameters with the aim to estimate the quality of surface water. According to the results of selected physico-chemical parameters (pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand), analyzed surface water show a good chemical status, while the values of nutrient content (nitrate, nitrite, ammonium ion, total phosphorus) indicated the poor chemical status especially ...Nebojša Đ.
