Influence of geological substrate on runoff formation, a case study: small river catchments in southeastern Serbia of similar size and with comparable pluviographic regimes
Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Veljko Marinović, Nikola Milovanović, Marina Čokorilo Ilić, Boris Vakanjac, Jugoslav Nikolić, Saša Bakrač (2022)We are witnessing climate change that is happening both, globally and, at the regionally - or local level. As a result of expected climate change in Southeast Europe, in the first place are the distributions of precipitation within the year (frequent extreme events are present) and then the increase in temperature, which already has a significant impact on evapotranspiration and runoff formed in a particular catchment area. In addition to climatic factors, the geological structure, i.e. the hydrogeological characteristics ...Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Veljko Marinović, Nikola Milovanović, Marina Čokorilo Ilić, Boris Vakanjac, Jugoslav Nikolić, Saša Bakrač. Influence of DEM resolution on numerical modelling of debris flows in RAMMS - Selanac case study
Debris flows induced by intensive rainfall represent very hazardous phenomena in many parts of the World. Methods for prediction of runout distance of flow like mass movements are different and depending on the input data, rheology, and available or appropriate numerical solution. However, sometimes it is not easy to obtain pre event and post event high-resolution data in the rural or mountainous area. Thus, the topology of terrain is the most important input parameter for the every real case ...Jelka Krušić, Biljana Abolmasov, Mileva Samardžić Petrović. Numerical Models of Debris Flows with Entrainment Analysis-Case Studies from the Republic of Serbia
The results of material entrainment analysis in RAMMS debris flow software, as well as numerical models of final flow heights for two case studies from the Republic of Serbia are presented. Both of debris flow cases started with initial sliding of huge volume block, prolonging to behave as flowing process. Results of the analysis showed that entrainment material affects final results of transportation model, runout distance, deposition area and volume of debris flow. In both cases entrainment volume is very ...... reka debris flow The Leva reka debris flow was occurred near city of Kraljevo during the same event in 2014. Huge block started firstly as slide and prolong as a flow. Travel distance is not so huge in comparison to length of source area and deposition area, so this is very possible flow-slide type ...

Mine ventilation system planning using genetic algorithms
The most common problem in contemporary mining practice related to the planning and analysis of ventilation systems is the optimization of partially regulated air distribution in mine ventilation networks. The first step is the determination of air distribution in all branches using the well known Hardy-Cross method. Self-Engineering: Possibilities for Maintenance Operations in the Mining Machines Industry
Self-engineering is a relatively new branch of knowledge that aims to understand how systems could “autonomously” re-configure or repair themselves without the intervention of the operators. A direct field of application is within the maintenance spectrum. Having systems or machines capable of self-detecting or even self-repairing could represent a game-changer, in capital asset fields such as the mining industry in particular. This paper aims to investigate the possible benefits and challenges of self-engineering / self-maintenance concerning mining machines, specifically bucket-wheel ...self-engineering, self-maintenance, maintenance operations, mining industry, bucket-wheel excavator, gearbox revitalization... to dynamically select prognostics models to ensure prediction accuracy, is also less relevant because the BWE needs to operate with a constant regime for ensuring productivity. Legal framework for recultivation of degraded areas caused by mining exploitation
