Agate veins and nodules occur in the Lece Volcanic Complex (Oligocene-Miocene) situated in the south of Serbia and occupying an area of 700 km2. Stepen drobljenja stena ima veliki uticaj na efikasnost daljih operacija utovara, transporta, drobljenja i mlevenja. Optimalno drobljenje stena pri proizvodnom miniranju utiče na smanjenje ukupnih troškova proizvodnje.
