Tectonic evolution of the Vršac Mts. (NE Serbia): Inferences from field kinematic and microstructural investigations
The Vršac Mts. in NE Serbia represent the key area to investigate structural relations between the Northern Serbo-Macedonian Subunit and Supragetic Unit of the Dacia Mega-Unit. The geodynamic events during the Variscan orogeny in the Late Paleozoic colligated the two units and led to their metamorphic differentiation. The Late Cretaceous extension exhumed the medium-grade Serbo-Macedonian metamorphic rocks and structurally juxtaposed them against the low-grade metamorphosed basement of the Supragetic Unit along an E-dipping shear zone, which outcrops in the ...severna srpsko-makedonska subjedinica, supragetikum, kinematska analiza, multifazna ekstenzionalna deformacija... part of Pannonian Basin. The tectonic uplift of the Vršac Mts. occurred in middle to late Miocene times along the SW-dipping normal faults that controlled deposition in the adjacent Zagajica Depression. The Miocene extension, triggered by the retreat of Carpathian slab, exhumed the crystalline basement ...

Clockwise vertical-axis rotation in the West Vardar zone of Serbia: Tectonic implications
The Vardar-Tethyan mega-suture between the Eurasian and Adria (Gondwana) margins comprises remnants of oceanic lithosphere of Neotethys and distal parts of the adjacent continental margins including unconformable Late Cretaceous sedimentary cover and Cenozoic igneous rocks of post-obduction age. This study provides kinematic constraints for displacements and rotations affecting the Serbian part of the West Vardar and Jadar-Kopaonik units after the closure of the Neotethyan (= Sava) Ocean. The targets of the paleomagnetic research were Late Cretaceous sediments representing an ...... northward tilting of the Fruška Gora during the Miocene. The 30 CW was followed by about 40 CCW vertical-axis rotation just before the Latest Miocene. The age of the CW rotation is constrained by the Oligocene age of the latites and the Middle Miocene age of the covering sediments, already exhibiting ...

Dragana D. Đurić (2019)U radu je prvi put opisan deo herpetofaune (Anura i Squamata) iz neogenih i kvartarnih lokaliteta Srbije. Obrađeni su lokaliteti Sibnica, Prebreza, Lazarevc, Vračević i Riđake, neogene starosti. Lokaliteti kvartarne starosti su pećine Mala i Velika Balanica, Pešturina, Hadži Prodanova, Baranica, Vrelska pećina i sedimentne ispune fisura u kamenolomima Venčac i Beočin. U radu je prikazana je taksonomska analiza herpetoloških ostataka. Pored taksonomske analize fosilnog materijala dat je kratak geografsko-geološki opis proučavanih lokaliteta, osnovne osteološke karakteristike anura i skvamata ...... donji miocen–danas. Prvi fosilni ostaci kameleona pronađeni su u Češkoj u sedimentima donjeg miocena (Rage 2013).
