CC-PESTO: a novel GIS-based method for assessing the vulnerability of karst groundwater resources to the effects of climate change
The new GIS-based CC-PESTO method is shown to successfully assess and map the vulnerability/resilience of karst aquifers to effects of climate change. Karst aquifers were chosen due to their importance at the global level and widespread utilisation in potable water supply and irrigation, but also because of their hydrogeological complexity. The method was developed to assess the intrinsic vulnerability of aquifers, without considering the direct impact of variable climate factors, but considering the adaptive capacity of aquifers in response ...Zoran Stevanović, Veljko Marinović, Jelena Krstajić. The impact of calculation of resources and reserves on mining activity in Serbia
The appearance of interest of the world's most important mining companies i for investment in Serbia imposes the problem of harmonization of domestic legislation with foreign ones. In this paper, specific categorization and classification of mineral raw materials, which do not match in domestic and foreign practice, are treated. The existence of such a conflict of criteria in use for categorization and classification can lead to misunderstanding and create certain complications in business. The following sections outline some of ...geological exploration, deposits, solid mineral raw materials, mineral projects, mineral resources and reservesJelena Zakonović, Katarina Urošević, Radmila Gaćina. Different aspects of soft computing methods application for blasting in mining
Mining is a global industry that is of great importance for every product which is used by human. For mining, process efficiency, reducing production downtime, increasing profitability are all very important. Soft computing tehnologies (SC) are helping in the process of transforming the mining industry into a safer and more environmental friendly industry, but keeping in mind the financial aspect as well. In this paper some of fields of blasting activities in which the SC methods have been applicated, ...Katarina Urošević, Jelena Zakonović, Radmila Gaćina. Sepiolite – a by-product of exploitation as a potential raw material in Serbian industry
This paper gives a brief overview of the sepiolite deposits, the basic properties, and the possibilities of using this mineral. Particular attention is paid to sepiolites from domestic production, especially the use of sepiolites suitable for the development of small businesses and technologies, with a focus on environmental protection. Aim of this paper is to point out importance of this mineral and to draw attention to the use of domestic raw materials. With appropriate mechanical and chemical pretreatments, sepiolite is ...Radmila Gaćina, Katarina Urošević, Jelena Zakonović. Determining the Groundwater Balance and Radius of Influence Using Hydrodynamic Modeling: the Case Study of the Groundwater Source “Šumice” (Kikinda, Serbia)
A groundwater flow model was developed to simulate groundwater extraction from the public water supply source of the City of Kikinda. The hydrodynamic model includes the municipal groundwater source of Kikinda (Šumice and the Jezero Well), but also an extended area where there are groundwater sources that provide water supply to three factories: (MSK, TM and LŽT - Kikinda). Hydrodynamic modeling, based on the numerical method of finite differences will show the groundwater balance of the sources in the ...... Geomorfološke posledice poplava 2014. godine u karstu Dževrinske grede (istočna Srbija)
The year 2014 was the year of extremely large floods in Serbia. The territories of municipalities Kladovo and Negotin, along the Danube course in Eastern Serbia, were among the worst affected, mostly by flash floods. The karst ridge of Dževrinska Greda, a typical contact karst and stripe karst environment formed within Upper Jurassic limestones, suffered significant morphological changes in terms of heavy washout of sediments on one hand (in fluviokarstic gorges and active cave passages), and on the other ...Jelena Ćalić, Dejan Jeremić, Ana Mladenović. Adsorption and degradation of some psychiatric drugs by sol-gel synthesized titania-based photocatalysts: influence of tungsten and sodium content
Nina L. Finčur, Maja J. Šćepanović, Mirjana Grujić-Brojčin, Biljana F. Abramović, Jugoslav B. Krstić, Aleksandar Kremenović, Tatjana Srećković, Aleksandar Golubović (2019)Mesoporous anatase nanopowders were doped with 0.05−0.5 mol% of W6, in order to obtain more efficient photocatalyst than TiO2 Degussa P25 in the degradation of amitriptyline (AMI) under simulated solar irradiation (SSI). Dominant XRPD peaks were ascribed to anatase phase, with additional peaks which could correspond to brookite, TiO2 bronze and sodium titanate, Na2Ti9O19. The Raman scattering measurements have confirmed anatase as dominant phase, with broad Raman feature at ~270 cm−1 possibly related to Ti–O–Na stretching vibration. History of the development of the hydrodynamic model of the open pit mine “Drmno”, Serbia
With the creation of a hydrodynamic model, the need for it usually ceases until some next moment when the model needs to be updated and used for the set task for the necessary project documentation or dedicated studies. It is relatively rare that almost every year the model is improved and used for forecast calculations. The paper presents the basic characteristics and development of the hydrodynamic model of the open pit mine “Drmno” for 25 years.
