Predeanu, S. Pusz, J. Ribeiro, S. Rodrigues, A.K. Singh, I. Suárez-Ruiz, I. Sýkorová, N.J. Wagner, D. Životić (2020)Self-heating of coal waste is a major problem in the leading coal-producing and consuming countries, independent of the recent or past coal exploitation history. The phenomenon of self-heating is dependent on many factors such as the properties of organic matter (maceral composition and rank), moisture and pyrite content, climate effects, and storage conditions (shape of the dump or compaction of the coal waste). Once deposited, coal waste undergoes oxidation, which can lead to self- heating with the overall temperatures ...M. Misz-Kennan, J. Kus, D. Flores, C. Avila, Z. Büçkün, N. Choudhury, K. Available technological procedures for capturing CO2 in the industrial and power generation sectors
Climate change is a major environmental issue caused by anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. Capturing CO2 and storing it in suitable geological formations is one of the main technological solutions that can provide mitigation of CO2 emission into the atmosphere. Capturing CO2 represents the first phase in process of carbon capture and storage, and includes the application of various technologies for the separation of CO2 produced in the energy and industrial sectors. There are four main systems for capturing ...... adsorbents while hydrogen rich fuel is combusted to produce energy [15]. The emission of CO2 by this technology can be reduced up to about 90-95 % [8]. Pre-combustion systems are more suitable for application in the new-build plants than in existing ones, because of the fuel conversion complexity [16-17] ...
... Concentration of CO2 in oxy-fuel combustion is 80-98% depending on used fossil fuel, but the major drawback is very high capital cost and the energy penalty for the reason that large amount of energy is needed for separating oxygen from the air. Conventional technology procedures that could be employed ...

Membrane technology has great potential for capturing CO2 from different gas streams such as: CO2/H2 separation in pre-combustion systems, CO2/N2 separation in post-combustion, capturing CO2 in natural gas processing and oxygen separation from nitrogen in an oxy-fuel combustion system [21] ...Lola Tomić, Vesna Karović Maričić, Dušan Danilović, Branko Leković, Miroslav Crnogorac. Effects of Energy Production and Consumption on Air Pollution in Serbia
Marija Živković (2019)Energy production and combustion, mostly from unregulated or inefficient fuel combustion, are the single most important anthropogenic sources of air pollutant emissions. Energy sector in Serbia is highly fossil fuel intensive: 87.88% of energy consumed in Serbia is related to fossil fuels, while almost 95% of energy sources are combusted. In 2017. energy related carbon dioxide emission in Serbia is was 47.95 million tones. The main source of carbon dioxide emission was coal, responsible for almost 70% of energy ...... pollution, both in terms of emissions per unit of fuel consumed and in terms of their share of total emissions (Figure 6). Analysis Of the Process Of Carbon Capture Utilization And Storage In Underground Reservoirs
John Nyame (2024)The importance of mitigating the effects of global climate change has necessitated an in-depth exploration of innovative strategies to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Among these strategies, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) has emerged as a promising and transformative solution.
