The series of Fe3−xYxO4 (x=0.00, 0.042 and 0.084, labeled as Y00, Y05 and Y10, respectively) was synthesized using co-precipitation followed by microwave-hydrothermal treatment (MW) at 200°C. With increase of yttrium content(xvalue), both the morphological inhomogeneity of the samples and the fraction of spinel nanorods as compared to spinel pseudospherical particles increased. Interaction of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) with homoionic montmorillonites: adsorption isotherms and metal-ion release
The interaction of dodecylsulfate anions (DS−) with homoionic Ca-, Mg-, Ni-, Cu-, Cd-, Pb- and Fe-montmorillonites were investigated. Mg- and Cd-montmorillonite do not adsorb DS−, and an anion exchange at the edges of the clay mineral does not take place. Three different adsorption processes are identified on the other montmorillonites: i) Fe-montmorillonite is covered with amorphous iron hydroxide, and DS−-anions are bound at positively charged sites. ii) On Ca- and Pb-montmorillonite DS− is precipitated as Me(DS)2. iii) On Ni- ...M. Adsorption and degradation of some psychiatric drugs by sol-gel synthesized titania-based photocatalysts: influence of tungsten and sodium content
Nina L. Finčur, Maja J. Šćepanović, Mirjana Grujić-Brojčin, Biljana F. Abramović, Jugoslav B. Krstić, Aleksandar Kremenović, Tatjana Srećković, Aleksandar Golubović (2019)Mesoporous anatase nanopowders were doped with 0.05−0.5 mol% of W6, in order to obtain more efficient photocatalyst than TiO2 Degussa P25 in the degradation of amitriptyline (AMI) under simulated solar irradiation (SSI). Dominant XRPD peaks were ascribed to anatase phase, with additional peaks which could correspond to brookite, TiO2 bronze and sodium titanate, Na2Ti9O19. The Raman scattering measurements have confirmed anatase as dominant phase, with broad Raman feature at ~270 cm−1 possibly related to Ti–O–Na stretching vibration. All W-doped ...Sol-gel synthesis, Doped titania nanopowders, XRPD, Raman spectroscopy, Adsorption and photocatalytic degradation, Psychiatric drugsNina L. Finčur, Maja J. Adsorption and Polymerization of Aniline on Cu(II)-Montmorillonite: Vibrational Spectroscopy and ab Initio Calculation
Batch adsorption experiments in the presence of oxygen were performed to study the interlayer reactions of aniline on Cu(II)-montmorillonite in aqueous solutions. At concentrations below a critical value of CC ) 2.6 mmol dm-3 only a colored Cu(II)-aniline complex is formed, characterized by a stability constant of log(Kassoc/dm3 mol-1) ) 1.5. At concentrations beyond Cc aniline polymerizes yielding a dark brown product, which is identified by two vibrational spectroscopy techniques, attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy and ...M. This work represents the results of interlaboratory exercises from 2016 to 2022 of the Microscopy of Carbon Materials Working Group in Commission III of the International Committee for Coal and Organic Petrology. The interlaboratory exercises were run on photomicrograph samples. For textural characterization of carbon materials, the existing American Society for Testing and ...
