Effects of bentonite binder dosage on the properties of green limestone pellets
Vladimir Jovanović, Dinko Knežević, Živko Sekulić, Milan Kragović, Jovica Stojanović, Slavica Mihajlović, Dragana Nišić, Dragan Radulović, Branislav Ivošević, Milan Petrov (2016)This paper presents the results of tests carried out to determine how the dosage of bentonite added as binder, affects the properties of green pellets made of the limestone fines that originate from Lithothamnium limestone processing. Bentonite was added to limestone in different mass fractions (1, 2.5, 5 and 10%), whereas all the other parameters of the pelletizing process remained constant. The aim of pelletizing was to consolidate limestone fines and form mechanically stable pellets, provided that all the ...Vladimir Jovanović, Dinko Knežević, Živko Sekulić, Milan Kragović, Jovica Stojanović, Slavica Mihajlović, Dragana Nišić, Dragan Radulović, Branislav Ivošević, Milan Petrov. Life Cycle Assessment of Individual Wood Biomass Heating Systems in Households
The use of solid fuels (wood biomass and coal) for heating of households continues to be common practice within European countries. Solid fuel combustion in households contributes more than 46% to total emissions of fine particulate matter. In this study, a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of firewood-based and pellet-based heating systems is performed. These two systems represent two different types of individual wood biomass heating systems. In the case of the firewood-based heating systems, it is analyzed a typical stove ...... firewood-based and wood pellet-based. Firewood stoves are widely used in all Western Balkans countries, while wood- pellet appliances are less common [19]. However, the characteristic of the market of wood fuels in Serbia in the last decade has been the fast rate of growth in wood pellet consumption. The ...

State and perspective of individual household heating in Serbia: A survey-based study
This paper presents the results of the household survey on individual household heating systems in Serbia. The survey was conducted in the period October to December 2020 with the participation of 1100 households with individual household heating systems. The information collected in the questionnaire can be separated into three main parts: basic household data, current heating system characteristics, and households’ perceptions and attitudes. The survey results provide unique and comprehensive information concerning individual household heating systems and the main ...Boban Pavlović, Dejan Ivezić, Marija Živković. Geomechnical research for the new bucket wheel excavator testing at Open pit “Filijala”
Since 1976 cement marl excavation at open-pit mine „Filijala” is carried out by continuous exploitation technology using bucket wheel excavator SH 400 manufactured by Orenstein und Koppel (O & K) company. Due to the bucket wheel excavator time-worn and high operating cost it was necessary to replace it with new one. In order to test the new bucket wheel excavator and prove its capacity a testing zone was defined as test block for excavation, in which the bucket wheel ...Vladimir Čebašek, Nebojša Gojković, Veljko Rupar, Miodrag Pribićević. Machine learning based landslide assessment of the Belgrade metropolitan area: Pixel resolution effects and a cross-scaling concept
Improvements of Machine Learning-based landslide prediction models can be made by optimizing scale, customizing training samples to provide sets with the best examples, feature selection, etc. Herein, a novel approach, named Cross-Scaling, is proposed that includes the mixing of training and testing set resolutions. Hypothetically, training on a coarser resolution dataset and testing the model on a finer resolution should help the algorithm to better generalize ambiguous examples of landslide classes and yield fewer over/underestimations in the model. Testing the energy value of different types of coal by the method of active thermography
In this paper, coal thermograms are presented and analyzed in order to determine their energy value. Two types of coal of different categories, brown and lignite, were selected for active thermographic imaging. The tested coal samples were processed before measurement so that they are similar in dimensions and have two plane-parallel smooth surfaces. The test samples were "primarily" heated under the same conditions and the process of their cooling was monitored by a thermal camera. "Then" they were cooled ...Stevan Đenadić, Ljubiša Tomić, Vesna Damnjanović, Predrag Jovančić, Dragutin Jovković. Correlation Between Dynamic CBR and Compaction and Bearing Capacity of Pavement Foundation Layers
This paper presents a dynamic California Bearing Ratio (CBRd) device that can be used on a prepared pavement foundation layer to obtain a certain parameter of the tested material in the laboratory and in situ in a direct and fast way. Determination of Mechanical Properties of Altered Dacite by Laboratory Methods
This paper presents a methodology for determining the uniaxial and triaxial compressive strength of heterogeneous material composed of dacite (D) and altered dacite (AD). A zone of gradual transition from altered dacite to dacite was observed in the rock mass. The mechanical properties of the rock material in that zone were determined by laboratory tests of composite samples that consisted of rock material discs. However, the functional dependence on the strength parameter alteration of the rock material (UCS, intact ...... tests (Figure 5). Minerals 2021, 11, 813 6 of 19 Figure 5.
